Well, the basement situation looks much brighter than yesterday, though the plumber will tell me the real damage/cost.  In the meantime, just a placeholder post for today.  Next week I'll do my best to catch up on some of these missing entries.  Thanks for your patience and all the kind notes!  They make cleaning a soggy basement much less of a chore.
